About OCCHA
Orginizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana, Inc. (OCCHA) was established in March of 1972 as a non-profit organization with its principal goals being to identify problem areas in the Spanish-speaking community and to establish programs which would address those problems.
The agency is funded by various sources.The staff members work together to provide the best possible service to the clients. OCCHA is open Monday thru Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is also available evenings and weekends for special events.
OCCHA has received numerous awards from Minority Health, Governor Bob Taft, united Way, Mayor of Youngstown, Mahoning County Commissioners, Ohio Commission Criminal Justice Services, El Nuevo Horizonte Spanish Newspaper, Ohio Arts Council, Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, National Council of La Raza, Ohio House of Representatives, and the Council of the City of Cleveland.

Our Mission
OCCHA is a non-profit organization located in Youngstown, Ohio. OCCHA strives to improve the quality of life for Hispanics and others in our multicultural community by providing social, economic, cultural, and educational programs. OCCHA seeks to improve the overall literacy abilities and quality of life for clients so that they may fulfill their civil obligations, exercise their rights, and operate in a creative and productive manner in society.
